Have you seen the movie Heneral Luna already? if you haven't go ahead and watch it!
Do you know Heneral Luna? He was a Filipino general who fought in the Philippine–American War. He was regarded as the most brilliant of the Filipino military officers during the war.
The first time I saw the trailer of Heneral Luna I know that it will be interesting to watch.I find the movie good because they really make us see how Americans treat Filipinos. It also make me sad because even filipinos betrayed filipinos. If you did watch it I know we felt the same while watching the movie.

This picture and its description totally shares the grievances and complaints General Antonio Luna has. We Filipino tends to forget what is the meaning of patriotism. We are scared of sacrificing our personal interest even in the midst of a raging war. This scene always acts as my reminder that our personal interest may be in favor for "US" obviously but in return it will cause troubles in the long run to the majority. Like General Antonio Luna once told, We should let go of the things that hindrances us from separating ourselves from our own selfish personal interest.
Heneral Luna (the movie) also thought us how to be a disciplinary leader and a disciplined person. A discipline leader attracts respect and a positively act of fear from your underlings in a group. Fear that causes us to react properly in a orderly manner, fear that means productivity for the majority and fear that teaches us how to know what are the things we stand for.
In the end this movie is great, it shows us the flaws of every person even if that someone is a hero. Indeed political interest that does not tends to bring the majority of the nation to success will result to a fall of the first reason why and what are leaders are oblige to.
Sacrifice is indeed a valuable elements to achieve greatness. One who values discipline and has the courage to disregard his/her personal interest is the leader we need back then and most importantly TODAY.
Blessed be our NATION.
