Public Speaking Contest

I really had fun in the Public Speaking Contest. I was lucky to be one in the 6 students that my teacher choose to compete with other students in other blocks. At first I felt nervous because I still didn't memorize the last paragraph of my speech so I had to remove it. When I deliver my speech it was almost good but at the last paragraph of my speech I started to stutter when look at the judges. But even if I did not make it in the final round at least I experience it. I still did it , overcoming my fear and I'm still lucky that my teacher trust me on this.

I was really happy for those students who make it to the final round especially to my classmates Pam and Mil they are my best friends. All of the students who compete in the final round was good. And I'm so happy that my classmate was the 2nd runner we are still proud of him. He did great job overcoming his fear and proving himself to the other people that he can. Before my teacher choose who will compete in the Public Speaking Contest my teacher ask us to have a News report and Persuasive speech. He gave me a high grade in our News Report because he told me that I did good among the other reporters. When he is about to call the name of the students that he choose I was really nervous but when I finally hear my name I was very happy because he trust me.

Though I did not make it to the final round I'm still happy and proud of myself because I make my mom and dad proud of me. I know that its not easy to compete with other students especially those students who are fluent in speaking English. At first I was scared because I'm not good in English I don't know how to answer if the judges ask me. I'm scared at people because they might laugh if I answer it wrong or my grammar is not appropriate. And now see? I've overcome my fear in Public Speaking. A piece of advice for those people who are like me, you should not under estimate yourself just believe that you can do it and if you want to do it don't be scared. KAYA YAN!
